Responsible for the delivery of an elegant and cohesive design solution for a 1000mi range BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) while working closely with the exterior team for Photon Auto Inc. The now saturated Luxury BEV market creates a unique opportunity to stand out in innovative ways.

To Deliver The Most Luxurious Experience Possible
Since the first concept my colleague, Khanh Vu, and I pitched at the Photon Auto Exhibit Competition in Fall 2022. From the beginning, Our mission has been consistent. We created the Photon Vision from a desire to provide the user with the utmost quality and experience available., unparalleled to the current market.
Having been awarded 1st place overall, my teammate and I partnered with two other designers for the opportunity to work hand in hand with Photon Auto to further develop our concept.

A study on the current BEV market suggests that the SUV sector is growing in popularity. This could be because users are naturally drawn to more spacious interior offered along with the increased field of vision due to a higher ride height. A larger platform also means the opportunity for manufacturers to pack an extended range battery which could relieve users of a common BEV fear: range anxiety.

Carving Out Space
In today's hyperconnected world, luxury is no longer attached to a material thing. Rather, users today are looking for an escape, somewhere to shelter from the chaos that floods their day to day. This sanctuary must delicately balance a subtle tone while also providing the latest amenities and entertainment.

A Look Into a User's Day
Thanks to Photon Auto's 1000 mi range, new possibilities arise and users once again have permission to be curious about their unique interests, design can now tailor towards the desire to adventure and travel beyond just the urban sector.
Sensor packages such as Lidar and cameras could create an entirely new segment for users that could help them offset the costs associated with their vehicle.

Seat Ideation
Implementing Human Centered Design philosophies into the seat ideation allowed for a focus on balancing the line between user immersion with features and entertainment while also preserving the necessity for a liberating and refreshing environment that promoted open space and innate relaxation.
